Fable Food Co, a mushroom-based protein company announced it has gotten $6.5 million in seed funding for the expansion of its business in the UK, US, and Asia.
Fable made a post on LinkedIn which says:
“We are now ready for the next chapter and bringing more delicious meaty food made from mushrooms to diners all around the world.”

The agreement has been made by the company with major retailers and food chains such as wool worths, Grill’d and meal-kit services, Marley Spoon and Dinnerly.Fable’s Mushrooms are been used in a variety of recipes, and its products include Beef Stroganoff, Rogan Josh, and Chilli Con Carme.
The company is co-founded by Mushroom farmer Chris McLoughlin, Entrepreneur Micheal Fox, and Mushroom scientist Jim Fuller.
The seed funding was lead by Blackbird Ventures and includes others which are: Agfunder, Better Bite Ventures, Aera VC, former Sequoia Capital partner Warren Hogarth, and Singaporean fruit and vegetable importer Ban Choon Marketing.
