From this definition, we can see that Agriculture is life. Without the practice of Agriculture and the existence of farmers, man will not be able to survive. This is because man needs food gotten from plants and Animals to feed on for survival.
Aside from food to feed on, man gets a lot of raw materials from plants and animals for other uses like Hide and skin for the production of clothing in the clothing industry, Bitter kola for the production of some drugs in the pharmaceutical industry, Mushrooms for the production of leather and vegetables such as bitter leaf for the production of some drugs.

The study of Agriculture or any of its related courses is very interesting.
I developed agriculture from a very young age. This was because my late father practiced farming while alive. He always loved to get me involved while carrying out his farming activities. We both were able to produce food for our family and our lives ones at our home garden. This act by my father made me see the beauty in Agriculture and the many reasons to study Agriculture and make farming my career. I always felt fulfilled seeing that what we planted and harvested becomes food on our table and those of our loved ones.

Studying Agriculture or any agricultural-related course gives you the opportunity to become self-employed. You will practically not have to look for a Job. If you are business-oriented like me, all you will have to do is to identify a problem and look for a way to solve the problem from your wealth of knowledge in Agriculture.
For instance, if you reside in an area where there is a lack of an Agricultural product or service let’s say pepper, you can find a way to either grow pepper or partner with farmers who grow pepper to receive supplies from them. Then, you should find a way to convert the fresh pepper to powder so as to increase the shelf life and prevent financial losses.
Aside from doing business of your own, there are a whole lot of job opportunities in the Agricultural sector if you are good in your practice of Agriculture. You can work in the Agric department of your country/ state government offices. You can also work as a farm manager, farm extension worker, agricultural economist, and any other job position depending on the aspect of agriculture you choose to focus on. The opportunities in the agricultural field are endless.
